Why use a SMARTPHONE camera INSTEAD of a stand-a-lone camera?

  • Portability-When don’t you have your smartphone? Now-a-days, everyone’s phone is attached at their hip and with that comes a portable and pocket friendly camera. Their small size makes it ideal for catching candid’s and unexpecting moments. Although mirrorless cameras are much smaller than DSLR’s, they will never be as portable as a phone.
  • HDR – (High Dynamic Range) Another way smartphones excel in photography is their display. Most stand-a-lone cameras can shoot but not display HDR. The screen size on a smartphone makes not only viewing, but editing easier, a feature that if supported is very limited on stand-a-lone cameras.
  • Image Quality – of a smartphone is often superior to stand-a-lone cameras .
  • Posting and Sharing – photos can be tedious process on a full-frame camera, often requiring transferring from camera to a phone, then to the computer. Often, the time to post a simple selfie to a social media or quickly share with a friend, makes leaving the clunky stand-a-lone behind.
  • Waterproof and durability- Smartphones have come a long way over the years, with nearly each iPhone increasing durability in screen and body, through enhanced materials, while Stand-A-Lone cameras are fragile and sensitive to moisture.
